If you need a loan to purchase the business, the lending provider will ask for one.

What are the advantages of a Business Plans?

Your business is more likly to sucess with a plan and one that has been written down.  As with all plans, they keep you focused and they can challenge you.       A business without a plan is like a ship without a rudder.

Do I need a Business Professional to write a Business Plans?

No.  However a good Business Advisor should be able to turn your ideas into achieveable tasks, write them up and set goals.  Regular follow ups are recommended.

What 5 things should a business plan include?

The general format includes full details of the business, historic and forecasted Profit & Loss, a SWOT analysis, details of capital needed, and how it will be spent.  Details of the people involved, their experience.  You do not need to restrict a business plan, it should be a working document not resting on a shelf.

Contact an Accountant, even two.  Ask if they offer an initial consultation Free and attend.

Write down your plan.   Don't worry you don't know where to start, they are your notes.

There are many Networking groups, Business Consultants, and lead generators out there but they will charge.

During the initial contact with your Accountant, ask for advice.  It's Free.

We have a lot of advice to offer.

I am new to Business what must you do ?

When starting in business you do need to be registered as soon as you start trading.

Accountants will give you a free consultation, explaining your choices and there is a lot of information to consider.

Always open a separate bank account and use it for business only

Ensure you are registered not just for your business but personally.

Take time to think about a system.  i.e. pen and paper, Accounting package, Excel, whatever you prefer, but it is vital to record transactions.

My business partner and I have been with Jones' accountants for over a year now and have found their service to be very good. Dinah is very approachable and doesn't mind answering any of my questions at any time. She's great for explaining any tax and vat requirements I might not understand and keeps us aware of any HMRC updates that will effect our business. I would definitely recommend Jones' accountants to other businesses.
